Camping, like any activity, becomes easier and more enjoyable as you become a better camper. Unless you have had the benefit of a camping class, the only way to become a better camper is through experience. Our site was created to share some of the lessons we have learned over 30 years of camping. A great deal of enjoyment comes from learning these lessons on your own, but a bad first camping trip may prevent you from ever going on your second camping trip.
 
As children we camped with our families, and learned an assortment of cuss words with each new “lesson learned”. In summer camps we gained friends and learned how to sneak around without strict adult supervision. In our college days, cold beer was a camping essential, but we learned that it could not feed a group, start a fire or cook a meal by itself. And now, as “responsible” adults, we are teaching our children how to make smores and pee in the woods when there is no indoor plumbing.
 
No matter how much you read before you camp, you will always have your own moments of enlightenment that improve your next camping adventure, but you can avoid a disaster by looking through our site.
