Eureka! Tents Have a Long History Behind Them Eureka! tents are the product of over 100 years of tent making and countless expeditions, including multiple expeditions on Mount Everest. When choosing a Eureka! tent, there are four things to consider - shape and style, number of people, different seasons, and fabric & material. Shape and Style Dome style Eureka! tents have good interior space and are rounded at the top. They are freestanding (no stakes required) and quick and easy to set up. A-Frame style tents have a simple, lightweight design with more room on the floor than at the top or the tent. Umbrella style Eureka! tents have nearly veritcal walls which gives in plenty of floor and headroom and can accomodate more people. Finally, Screen houses provide protection from the sun, rain and bugs with good ventilation. Different Season Tents The two season Eureka! tents are generally for fair weather campers and are inexpensive. Three season tents are the most popular and can handle wind and rain in the spring, summer and fall. For the hearty camper, the four season tents are constructed of heavier materials to withstand heavier wind and snow conditions. Number of People There are Eureka! tents for up to 9 people, so how you will be using your tent is also important. If you are backpacking, lighet smaller tents make more sense. If you are family camping, the larger tents are easy to put up and take down. Fabric & Material Eureka! tents use high quality fabrics and materials to keep the inside of the tent dry. The floors are constructed of waterproof coated nylon with a bathtup design where the floor wraps up the side of the tent to keep water outside. The wall are constucted of a waterproof ripstop nylon or a waterproof polyester fabric, StormShield. The StormShield fabric is also UV and acid rain resistant. The frames for the 3 season Eureka! tents are either aluminum or fiberglass which makes them lightweight yet stable. The are also easy to work with when putting the tent up.
